Dr Joon Kim has secured 2 years of funding for a postdoctoral fellowship from the Neurological Foundation of New Zealand. The grant will help to understand the role of stress-responsive neurons in the brain and how they are involved in the neurological processes underlying an animal's risk assessment.
The project will extend the work undertaken in the Iremonger Lab which focuses on understanding the excitability of corticotrophin-releasing hormone (CRH) neurons, key regulators of stress hormone levels in the body.
