Bioethics seminar: Social licence is a problem for Digital One Health
One health links the health of humans, animals and the environment, requiring collaboration and promising benefit across these domains.
Digital One Health envisions use of a digital technologies for extensive information collection, sharing, and use to facilitate and enhance one health. However, realising its benefits requires that people individually or in groups approve of it – sometimes called social license.
This faces hurdles from technological diversity, stakeholder variance, AI uncertainties, and concerns over privacy and control. Social license itself is also regarded as sketchy. Digital One Health faces big challenge.
