Department of Medicine seminar series: Biostatistics and diet

Biostatistics and diet: What do the numbers mean?

A Department of Medicine seminar delivered by Dr Jill Haszard, Senior Research Fellow in the Biostatistics Centre, University of Otago.

The influence of lifestyle behaviours (such as diet) on health is a fascinating and progressive area of research that has relevance to all of us. However, with all the available data and different analyses that we can do, we can sometimes lose sight of what the answer to the research question actually means.

In this forum, Dr Haszard will use examples to show that taking the time to understand what the numbers mean can have a big impact on our understanding of how diet (and other lifestyle behaviours) relates to health.
