Obesity; a big problem for men in Aotearoa
Dr Fiona Doolan-Noble | Department of General Practice and Rural Health
More men in New Zealand are overweight or obese than women, with overweight and obesity increasing more for men than women over the last couple of decades. The weight and weight management literature invariably focuses on women and their experiences of weight loss attempts and stigmatisation. Within weight studies the male voice is hard to hear. This qualitative study sought to understand the experiences of New Zealand men living large, including their interactions in general practice.
