Dr Aithan Shapiro.
Developing Cultures for Innovation at the Speed of Change
Part of the GREAT Minds Thinking Differently speaker series, Dr Aithan Shapiro – MFA, PhD, Founder, CEO and Leadership Strategist – equips individuals, teams, and organisations with the tools to create cultures of innovation.
In today’s increasingly fast-paced, competitive, and complex world, if you don’t innovate you won’t survive. Most people and organisations are not inherently innovative. The rise of the digital age – often referred to as the 4th industrial revolution – oriented the last 30 years toward building tools for innovation. But you cannot simply build an innovation lab or buy the shiniest trademarked tools to become innovative.
Shapira is the founder of Making To Think, an organisation designing experiences that jolt individuals and establishments to shift perspectives, change faster, test their assumptions, and trust in ways that create growth-oriented cultures. Using time- and science-tested techniques from the arts, we heighten abilities to see and hear in order to expand what teams can build together. He is currently leading three international university initiatives integrating their arts colleges and business schools. He is pioneering progressive curricula at the edge of leadership and future of work at MIT Sloan, Harvard iLab, Stanford d.school, and Berklee Institute for Creative Leadership.
