One definition of 'convocation' is a recognition of the scholarly circle of life, encompassing all the celebrations and traditions of incoming students and graduates.
Our 150th Convocation Ceremony is an historic event that has occurred only once before, at the University’s centennial.
The ceremony includes:
- Musical items
- Performances by Māori and Pacific students and staff
- Inspiring speeches and
- The awarding of honorary doctorates.
The Academic Procession aims to bring together academics, students and alumni, to march graduation-style from the School of Dentistry to the Town Hall in their regalia, to pay homage to 150 years of academic excellence.
