As a public health physician, Dr Liz Craig spent over a decade monitoring the health of our country’s children and young people, charting the impacts that years of under-investment were having on their lives. This talk will focus on the lessons she has learned as a child health advocate and what the Government is doing to improve child wellbeing.
Dr Liz Craig is a Labour L ist MP based in Invercargill. Before entering Parliament in 2017, Liz was Director of the NZ Child and Youth Epidemiology Service and spent over a decade monitoring the health of NZ’s children and young people. Liz’s entry into politics stemmed from the belief that every child should have the best possible start in life and that the Government had an active role to play in ensuring access to high quality public services.
