Understanding the role of genetics in metabolic disease risk in Māori and Pacific peoples: The Maurice Wilkins Centre approach

The seminar will discuss evidence emerging from a national collaborative study that has identified new Māori and Pacific specific genetic factors linking to differences in risk for developing a range of metabolic diseases.

The seminar will discuss how this might be used to better guide health care pathways.

Presented by Professor Peter Shepherd, BSc (Hons), PhD, Department of Molecular Medicine & Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre, University of Auckland and Deputy Director Maurice Wilkins Centre.
