The story behind the making of Tectonic Map of Te Riu-a-Maui/Zealandia

A seminar presented by Honorary Research Professor Nick Mortimer of GNS Science and University of Otago

GNS Science has just published new 1:8.5M scale bathymetric and tectonic map posters of the mainly submerged Zealandia continent.

This talk describes the background behind the assembly of the maps, especially the selection, simplification and depiction of a vast amount of varied information.

As well as being of educational value, the hope is that these maps will inspire new research.
