The Ice Shelf Lasagne: effects of layering on ice shelf flow

Ice is just ice, right?

A seminar by University of Tasmania PhD candidate, and Otago Geology alumna, Lisa Craw.

Most ice shelf models assume that all ice has the same properties, and can all be parameterised in the same way. Lisa has spent two years in Hobart, and recently two weeks on the SEM at Otago, trying to show that this isn't the case. Come along for a deep dive into ice microstructure and flow properties.
