This is a one-day symposium for anyone with an interest in climate change research.
A hybrid in-person and online event, this year's symposium will feature presentations on flood resilience (Dr Emily Lane, NIWA), climate adaptation in Māori communities (Dr Shaun Awatere, Landcare Research), the development of a te ao Māori climate risk toolkit (Aukaha) and a panel discussion reflecting on COP26.
In addition, the Science Media Centre will give a presentation including:
- Understanding the media landscape, the news cycle and timing
- Anticipating what journalists want from experts/researchers
- Advice for busy researchers to make the most of opportunities
- What the Science Media Centre offers and how they can help you.
This will then be followed by a public lecture by Professor Kevin Anderson in the evening.
