Lisa will be talking to us about Ka mua ka muri: Why understanding the Pacific past is important for Pacific genomic research today at our Zoom seminar on Friday 1 July, 3-4pm.
Professor Lisa Matisoo-Smith is a Biological Anthropologist who uses genetic information to understand the history of human settlement.
In collaboration with Pacific communities, she studies genetic variation of people and their commensal plants and animals to reconstruct the settlement history of the Pacific and then uses this information to answer anthropological questions regarding population histories, health, and adaptation.
