Washington, USA Alumni event 2019

The Board of the Alumni of the University of Otago in America (AUOA), Chancellor, Dr Royden Somerville QC, and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Harlene Hayne, warmly invite you to join your Otago alumni friends and colleagues from across the decades to help celebrate the University of Otago's 150th Anniversary.

While we won't be joined by alumni from the class of 1869, we look forward to a great turnout of all Otago alumni, and an evening of memories, reminiscences, laughter and camaraderie. We hope you can attend.

The evening's agenda includes reflections from our times in Dunedin, an update on the University's current programmes and successes, and ... complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvre!

  • Saturday – A programme of local daytime activities will be available for visitors wishing to explore the sights and sounds of DC.
  • Sunday – Alumni Brunch at a venue TBA - optional attendance.
  • Accommodation – An AUOA room block is available at the Washington Marriott Metro Center, 772 12th Street NW, Washington DC at a rate of $179 (plus 14.95% tax) per night.   • Hotel to Embassy transportation – We are looking into providing coach transportation to and from the hotel and Embassy, including the possibility of a downtown DC tour enroute More information will be provided in coming weeks.

What we need from you:

Start going through those albums, boxes of unframed photos and scrap books to dig out your fondest memorabilia from your days at Otago.

Share your experiences by sending us photos and stories which will be made into a slide show for the evening. Please email your photos, mementos and any brief reflections to Neil Matheson (neil@otagoalumni.us) or Jacinta Calverley (jacinta@otagoalumni.us).
