Christina McGraw - University of Otago

Christina McGrawChristina McGraw is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Otago. Christina has broad interests in analytical and marine chemistry, and her research revolves around the design of field-deployable instrumentation for Marine research. Christina is a Full Member of SCOR Working Group 149: Changing Ocean Biological Systems (COBS): How will biota respond to a changing ocean?

Christina’s team is currently working on a range of instruments to complement Research Centre for Oceanography projects:

  • Automated culture systems to study the impact of global climate change on marine ecosystems.
  • Disposable electrodes to monitor fluctuations in marine carbonate and nitrate.
  • Deployable devices to study real-time dissolution and precipitation of calcium carbonate.

Christina is also a member of the Coastal People: Southern Skies collaboration that connects communities with world-leading, cross-discipline research to rebuild coastal ecosystems.
