With over 30 years experience in both diagnostic and research histology, Amanda brings a wealth of experience to the Unit. Her primary focus is providing an accessible, user-friendly facility for a broad range of research needs.
Medical Laboratory Scientist
Alisha first started at Otago University as a student completing a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLSc), focusing on Histology and Haematology for the 4th year clinical placements. Alisha has then worked in the Pathology Department gaining research experience in immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, DNA extraction and PCR analysis. Alisha has been employed in the Histology Unit Laboratory since 2011 with expertise in a wide range of histological techniques. As part of the Histology service, Alisha also offers technical assistance to staff and students for their research projects.
The User Group consists of members that represent University of Otago departments that use the Histology unit and advises the OMNI Academic Advisory Group on direction and strategy.
