Overview

The Australian Medical Council (AMC) undertakes accreditation of medical student teaching programmes for all medical schools in Australia and New Zealand. The Otago Medical School holds accreditation of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree with the AMC until 31 March 2025. This followed an accreditation process throughout 2018 which was accepted by the Medical Council of New Zealand in May 2019, awarding us full accreditation for the maximum period available with minimal conditions and a pleasing number of commendations.
