Overview

All research uses resources (staff, procedures, equipment, admin supplies etc). Te Whatu Ora – Southern, in particular, is not funded at all to carry out research and so all costs must be identified and covered.

In general:

  • If the funding for the research is a grant, the costing must be carried out on a University of Otago costing worksheet (CCW). Contact your Research Adviser to work through this process.
  • If the research is a commercial trial the costing will be carried out on a NZACRes Clinical Trials Costing Tool. Contact the HRS Research Office to work through this process.
  • If the funding comes from elsewhere (e.g. internal departmental funds), you can develop your own costing layout.

Costs and budgets

Quotes

All resources required for research including pharmacy, pathology, radiology, rooms etc, must be accurately costed. To achieve this, quotes are required from the relevant Department or supplier for the resources. Please use the forms below.
