The James Hume Bequest

23 February 2022 For research in psychiatry by DSM or UoO School of Biomedical Sciences staff.
Applicants must be PBRF-eligible; appointed for min. 2 years (past and future).

The H.S. and J.C. Anderson Charitable Trust

Up to $50,000 for research into human disease by DSM or UoO School of Biomedical Sciences staff.

Otago Medical School Foundation Trust Dean’s Bequest Round

7 June 2022 To support research projects of 12 months' duration by PBRF-eligible DSM staff appointed for min. 3 years (past and future)

  • DSM (PBRF-eligible) and;

– The Emily Johnston Scholarships for Research in Science and Art of Clinical Medicine
– The Frances G. Cotter Scholarship for Research in Medicine

The HealthCare Otago Charitable Trust

21 September 2022 To support research clearly linked to specific health outcomes or benefits for the communities of Otago.

Research Student Support Committee

Research students enrolled in a University of Otago post-graduate degree requiring completion of a research thesis can apply for funding to support their research via the Research Student Support Committee. The Research Student Support Committee meets the third Wednesday of every month to assess funding applications. The monthly deadline for submission of funding applications is the first Wednesday of every month at noon to the HRS.
