About us

Otago Connection is our news site and e-newsletter dedicated to keeping families connected with student life at Otago. Full of stories about student successes, events, volunteering, campus life and all that Otago has to offer undergraduate students — read it all in Otago Connection.

Here at Otago, we are training the next generation of doctors, lawyers, accountants, teachers, and scientists, but more importantly we are educating the next generation of citizens. To do this, we provide not only outstanding teaching and research facilities, but we also provide opportunities for students to grow in other aspects of their life as well. The purpose of this Otago Connection is to keep parents, family and friends informed about life at Otago, even though you may be far away from your sons and daughters.

Throughout the year and in our three e-newsletters, we provide you with information about events like Orientation and graduation, and about some of the outstanding facilities and support services we provide. We will also share some of the amazing things that students are doing as they live and learn here, giving you a glimpse of student life that you won’t get any other way.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne also routinely discusses topics of keen interest at Otago and shares insight into where the University is going through her regular editorials in Otago Connection.
