Each year the Graduate Research School administers special funding to assist a number of Māori and indigenous Pacific candidates to attend, or to attend and present papers, at a local, national or international conference.
As the funding is limited, any funding approved for a particular applicant may not necessarily cover all conference-related expenses. Expenses that may be covered by the conference grant include travel, accommodation and conference registration fees. Meal expenses will not be covered.
Only thesis Masters or Doctoral candidates of Māori or indigenous Pacific origin are eligible to apply for a grant. Applicants must be enrolled in a thesis (ie not a dissertation or project report). In the interests of assisting as many candidates as possible, preference will be given to those candidates who are applying to attend their first conference and to those who are giving a presentation at their conference or meeting.
Note: In order to qualify for funding, candidates are required to complete their ancestry verification on eVision. To find out how to do this, please follow this link to the ancestry verification information page for students before submitting your application for funding.
