The Chief Executive of Otago Innovation Ltd, Colin Dawson, is resigning after 11 year's involvement in setting up and then leading the company.
Mr Dawson said he has had a memorable tenure as Chief Executive and he thanked the board and staff for their support over the years.
“I have been fortunate to have enjoyed strong support from the board and team. The work of commercialising early stage technologies is difficult so it has been very satisfying to see the stream of successes of recent years.
“It is clear that the calibre of research at the University is world class and I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with some outstanding researchers. Otago ideas are today, via the commercialisation process, creating products and services that benefit society in New Zealand and around the world,” said Mr Dawson.
Otago Innovation Chairman John Ward said the board wished Mr Dawson well and thanked him for his contribution to OIL.
“Colin has played an important role in the development of Otago Innovation Ltd We have valued his contribution and wish him well for any future endeavours,” said Mr Ward.
Mr Dawson is Director of a number of organisations, including Pacific Edge Ltd, and BLIS Technologies.
