    1. Critically plan, design, assess and evaluate pedagogically appropriate classroom programmes to deliver the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa
    2. Critically engage with and critique current research related to curriculum learning areas
    3. Design, use and critique a range of assessment tools and strategies used in national assessment
    4. Demonstrate pedagogical content knowledge across the New Zealand Curriculum
    5. Demonstrate a high level of pedagogical content knowledge and potential for leadership in a curriculum area other than English or Mathematics
    6. Respond critically to current issues and initiatives relevant to New Zealand teaching contexts
