    Overview

Brings together aspects of the chemical, physical and biological sciences, with an emphasis on physical chemistry, to provide the basis for pharmaceutical formulation.

The paper aims to stimulate in the student a desire for life-long learning in the area of design and formulation of pharmaceutical dosage forms, an indispensable prerequisite for a pharmaceutical professional working in academia or industry.

After completion of the paper, the student will have developed an understanding of pharmaceutical dosage forms whose properties are governed by physicochemical principles and an understanding of the importance of formulation technology in the development and assessment of liquid dosage forms.
