Activities and Memberships
I am an active musician and songwriter, performing both as a soloist and as a sideman (collaborative accompanist). As a multi-instrumentalist, I play acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, mandola, mandocello, banjo, ukelele, pedal steel guitar, Dobro, Weissenborn lap guitar, lap steel, fiddle, autoharp, keyboards, acoustic and electric bass, harmonica, accordion, Theremin, and musical saw. My main musical interests are folk and Americana, bluegrass, blues, honkytonk and country music, swing jazz, and contemporary singer-songwriters. I enjoy playing a wide variety of music. I host a weekly radio show called “The Jukebox Highway”, which features non-mainstream music that I happen to love.
I am a master saddlemaker, and still enjoy making things out of leather. Personal interests include horses, cowboy & ranch history, astronomy, computer programming, and writing. I read science fiction, historical novels, and non-fiction on topics such as Digital Culture, Economics, Philosophy, and Music Production. Participation and memberships include:
