A detailed introduction to industry-standard sound reinforcement and recording technology. The skills taught will be of use to composers, songwriters, arrangers, and those interested in music production in the context of live sound reinforcement, as well as the professional recording studio environment.
Music Technology 3 continues the study of technical studio and creative skills emphasised in MUSI 232 and moves further into the recording process. Using industry-standard audio recording software ProTools, students create their own recording projects. This is a lab-intensive paper with a hands-on approach to recording, editing and mixing music and sound.
