Research

My research focuses on the individualisation of drug therapy. The types of questions I ask are; why do people respond differently to the same dose of a drug, what are the factors which determine this variability, and how can we use this information to design dosing regimens that are safe and effective?

I am particularly interested in the time course of drug concentrations in the body (pharmacokinetics), the concentration–effect relationship (pharmacodynamics) and the influence of genetic variability on drug response (pharmacogenetics). I have expertise in pharmacometric methodology including population PKPD modelling and computer simulations.
