Around 130 fourth year Pharmacy students gathered at the Hutton Theatre, Otago Museum on Friday 13th October 2017 to present their posters for the inaugural PHCY 470 Elective Study Research Symposium.

“Energy was high and it had a great conference feel,” said paper co-ordinator, Dr Ailsa McGregor. “It was an opportunity for students to celebrate the end of the elective projects and showcase their research to fellow students and staff.”

Presentation of their research to assessors accounted for 20% of students' final mark. Attendees also had an opportunity to vote for the People's Choice Poster Award.

The winning poster was 'Choosing Pharmacy as a Career: Motivations and Influences,' presented by William Guy, Saba Asadi, Yeseul Park, Thomas Hassan and Emma Gilbertson and supervised by Dr Greg Walker.
