Overview

To complete the PGDipClinPharm programme you need to complete 120 points, or four papers of 30 points each.

You may enrol directly into the PGDipClinPharm programme, or transfer credits from the PGCertPharm (Med. Opt.) and continue with two more papers.

Papers

Papers available to complete the PGDipClinPharm programme are:

  • PHCY 510 Evidence-Based Practice (30 points)
  • PHCY 511 Patient-Centred Care (30 points)
  • PHCY 520 Applied Patient-Centred Care (30 points)
  • PHCY 521 Elective Topics in Patient-Centred Care (30 points)

The regulations allow four years' part-time study to complete this programme.

A requirement for the programme is that candidates are registered pharmacists in New Zealand or Australia and practising in their country of residence.

Exemptions

If you have undertaken postgraduate papers which are similar to some of those listed as part of the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, and you wish to have those credits recognised, you will need to request an exemption by email:

These exemptions will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Student Records of the University will be notified. This should be requested separately to the application process. If you have a qualification from a University other than Otago, you will need to supply evidence of your transcript, and a description of the papers undertaken, such description detailing the course content.

Using the yellow "Apply Now" button on the top-right will start the process. You will first be directed to create (new students to the University) a Student Portal, or log into (returning students) the Student Portal using your username and password. From here you apply for the programme; Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy. Please remember to return to your Student Portal, as this is where your Letter of Offer will be sent!
