"Using Stochastic Integration in Phase Space
Part III: Faking Probability Distributions with Truncated Wigner"
We look at how the positive-P and truncated Wigner representations can be used to calculate quantum correlations in out of equilibrium open and closed quantum sustems. This is the third in a series of introductory talks on phase space methods running over three weeks.
These talks will follow through the procedures and methods used, without going deeply into the formalism of phase space representations. The first talk covered the positive-P representation for a nonlinear chi-2 system. The second introduced the truncated Wigner representation for a chi-3 nonlinear system, and show what it gets right and what it gets wrong.
The topic of the third talk will include sampling different initial quantum states and reproducing probability distributions to relate to experiment.
