2018 Blake NIWA Ambassadorship for Emily Gordon

Emily Gordon_Blake NIWA AmbassadorshipEmily Gordon has been named as one of the Blake NIWA Ambassadors for 2018. For her honours project, she has been investigating how large solar storms affect the already fragile ozone layer above Antarctica, using data collected from NIWA's Arrival Heights and Lauder facilities along with satellite observations from NASA.

As part of her Blake NIWA Ambassadorship, Emily will carry out field measurements of atmospheric composition and climate variability as part of NIWA science teams at Lauder and Wellington (Baring Head). She will also be involved with the processing and analysis of measurements. Emily will undertake her ambassadorship for 3-4 weeks in late 2018, spending 1 week in Lauder and 2-3 weeks in Wellington.
