My B.Sc. (Hons) and Ph.D. in Physics are from Victoria University of Wellington. After four years as a post-doc at the University of Cambridge in the UK and Victoria University, I joined what was then the DSIR, working mostly on high temperature superconductors and related materials. I then worked on understanding atomic force microscopy of chiral molecules at the University of Cambridge before joining the Women in Science, Engineering and Technology Initiative (WiSETI) there. I was also the Regional Officer for East of England at the Institute of Physics in the UK before returning to New Zealand.
