The World Congress on Pain is the premier conference devoted to pain research and treatement. In 2016, the world's top researchres and clinicians meet in Yokohama, Japan.
Pain@Otago Director, Prof Ted Shipton, is attending the event along with Deputy Director Dr Ram Mani, and Steering Group Member Dr Nicola Swain.

Dr Huisman is the scientific director of the Longitudinal Ageing Study Amsterdam (LASA). His main focus is the role of socioeconomic adversity on health in old age. He is also the research coordinator of the Amsterdam Center in Ageing. He will be visiting the University of Otago from the 12 - 30th of September.

The Relay for Life is an annual event held to raise awareness and funds for cancer. The University of Otago held its Relay for Life event on the 16th of April. 93 students from the School's 2nd and 3rd year classes contributed to the event and raised over $3000.

Associate Professor Gill Johnson, MSc PhD DipGrad(Otago) DipPhty FNZCP, was farewelled by the School of Physiotherapy staff at a function at the Staff Club on 8th April.
