Leading human-canine interaction researchers visit the School of Physiotherapy

Prof Sandra and Randolph Barker (Virginia Commonwealth University) will be visiting the School of Physiotherapy on the 18th November.  They will presenting a Public Lecture on 'Evidence supporting health benefits of human-canine interactions'. 5pm, Room 1.20, School of Physiotherapy.

Theme members attend the IASP World Congress

The World Congress on Pain is the premier conference devoted to pain research and treatement.  In 2016, the world's top researchres and clinicians meet in Yokohama, Japan.
Pain@Otago Director, Prof Ted Shipton, is attending the event along with Deputy Director Dr Ram Mani, and Steering Group Member Dr Nicola Swain.

William Evans Fellow A/Prof Martijn Huisman visits Dunedin in September

Dr Huisman is the scientific director of the Longitudinal Ageing Study Amsterdam (LASA).  His main focus is the role of socioeconomic adversity on health in old age. He is also the research coordinator of the Amsterdam Center in Ageing.  He will be visiting the University of Otago from the 12 - 30th of September.

Physio students join in the Relay for Life

The Relay for Life is an annual event held to raise awareness and funds for cancer.  The University of Otago held its Relay for Life event on the 16th of April.  93 students from the School's 2nd and 3rd year classes contributed to the event and raised over $3000.

Retirement of Associate Professor Gill Johnson
