Prof Pernilla Åsenlöf is a Professor in Physiotherapy, Department of Neuroscience, Uppsala University, and the Pain Centre at the University Hospital of Uppsala, Sweden. Pernilla's visit is funded by the Otago/Southland Physiotherapy Trust. She will be giving a lecture and workshop during her time at Otago.

“The ongoing shift of paradigm within physiotherapy and pain management”
The lecture provides an overview of the foundations for integration of behavioural medicine and pain management/rehabilitation in general and physiotherapy in particular. Current evidence is summarised and results from a series of Swedish trials are presented.

“The application of learning theory and behaviour change techniques in physiotherapy”.
This seminar provides an introduction to learning theory and its application to physiotherapy in terms of analysing and treating physical activity and sedentary behaviours, as well as pain behaviours. A new model for clinical reasoning will be presented and discussed together with participants.
