Research summary | Ryanodine receptor: The next target for Alzheimer's disease |
Research
My principal research interest is in the role of ryanodine receptor (RyR2) in Alzheimer's disease (AD). In particular, my focus is in understanding RyR2 function and its organisation in AD.
RyR2 has been shown to be involved in both AD and heart disease. Therefore, we aim to characterise how the activity of RyR2 is altered in disease and how it can be restored to its normal function.
