Each Friday lunchtime, PIRSSU provides free academic support, mentoring, and general support to students.
These Friday Lunch Sessions are open to all Pacific Islands Health Professional Students' Association (PIHPSA) students and alumni, plus staff from the Division of Health Sciences. They're a good opportunity for students and staff to meet.
External guests are invited to present on important topics. Presentations may cover academic topics, cultural issues, social activities, and research. All sessions are chaired by either a PIHPSA representative or a PIRSSU staff member.
Presentations are often made by staff or students from within the Division of Health Sciences:
- Faculty of Dentistry
- Otago Medical School (including the Otago School of Medicial Sciences)
- School of Physiotherapy
- School of Pharmacy
Graduate students and Otago alumni are also invited to present at these meetings.
Friday Lunch Sessions are held each Friday during Semesters One and Two, from 1pm to 2pm at either 71 Frederick Street (same building as the PIRSSU office) or the Hunter Centre.
Contact PIRSSU for further details about locations and the Friday Lunch Sessions.
