The 24th IPSA World Congress took place in Poznan, Poland from 23-28 July 2016. The Congress was originally scheduled for Istanbul, but organisers early in 2016 decided to relocate it for security reasons. Good move!
Two Otago lecturers presented papers at the conference, the theme of which was inequality as a global political phenomenon: Bryce Edwards’ paper dealt with political controversies in New Zealand concerning inequality, while Philip Nel reviewed progress being made with progressive redistribution in Sub-Saharan Africa.
