Thesis topic: The Arab Awakening and the role of Political Islam: a comparative case of Tunisia and Egypt

Carmen Fulco has found an intellectual home at Otago. She found out about the Middle East programme in the Politics Department in Otago while working as a teacher of Italian in Melbourne. After spending some time in the Middle East (Egypt and Tunisia), she moved to Australia where she lived for the past four years.
Her interest in the Middle East has led her to focus on the Arab Awakening and the Role of Political Islam: A Comparative Study of Tunisia and Egypt. As a world traveller, she is not sure where she will go next, but she is pretty sure that a PhD from Otago will set her up well for anything that comes up.
