The University Library offers a Liaison Service which supports postgraduate students right across the University so they can make the most of the world-class facilities and resources it offers. This support service is also available to distance students in the various disciplines.
The Library Liaison Service comprises subject specialist librarians who are each designated to the relevant department/s. They can help postgraduate students locate print and electronic resources, manage literature search results, get to grips with research tools and many other useful tips and skills. They also provide helpful subject guides on the main library website.
In response to feedback from students, the service is also this year providing hands-on workshops aimed at covering the areas postgraduates commonly need help with. The next two topics include 'Taming of the bib', covering referencing and information management, and 'Exploring the publishing landscape', on thesis preparation, copyright and journal rankings. More will be held during Graduate Research Month in August.
