Learning Outcomes

On completion of this paper, students are expected to demonstrate knowledge of the measurement, epidemiology and public health aspects of a range of oral conditions (including periodontal disease, enamel defects, mucosal conditions, dry mouth and tooth loss). They will also appreciate the nature, scope and contribution of dental health services research. Building on DENT263, they should further appreciate (and understand the implications of) the cultural diversity of the NZ population, with particular reference to Māori oral health and services.
