Welcome to EDUC 577 Secondary Curriculum 2. This is an exciting semester that will enable you to continue to put into practice the curriculum learning you did in the first semester in EDUC 477. With six weeks of school-based practicum, continued time with your individual curriculum lecturers and two assignments that evidence your reflective practice, this paper will enable you to continue your development in pedagogical content knowledge. During this semester, and supported by your school-based mentor teachers and college-based lecturers, you will be researching current issues and initiatives and reflecting on this research in your classroom practice.

This course continues from EDUC 477 Secondary Curriculum 1. Students will further develop their pedagogical content knowledge and curriculum learning. Through the assignments and, in alignment with their school-based practice, students will evidence their reflective practice and research current issues and initiatives in their curriculum subjects.

EDUC577 has two components
- Core Sessions
All secondary sector students are together in a block at the beginning of semester. - Curriculum Subjects
A full programme is 3-4 curriculum subjects across 1-2 Learning Areas. The curriculum staff for each of these subjects will contact students with individual timetable information. These sessions will take place either at the university or a school, and will continue into the second semester.
