HIST303 Modern India

The history of modern India from when the British secured control over the sub-continent to independence in 1947.

This paper is an examination of the making of modern India. In addition to introducing key historical figures, such as Gandhi, it explores economic and social change, shifting cultural patterns, religious movements, struggles against British colonialism and nationalist movements.
