Overview

This project provides opportunities for students to examine how Roman history is constructed and presented.

Focusing on the Late Republic/Early Empire, possible topics include:

  • The representation of the Roman imperial family
  • The use of “praise and blame” in Roman prose authors
  • Denigration of imperial predecessors
