Diane Campbell-Hunt (1952–2008) had completed two years’ research for a PhD in Geography at the University of Otago when she died in a tramping accident on Mount Taranaki.
A graduate of Canterbury and Lincoln Universities, she devoted her professional life to researching future scenarios, particularly on the sustainability of biological and human systems, and played an active role in the establishment of the Orokonui Ecosanctuary in Dunedin.
