University of Otago researchers presented an exciting array of CVD research from population implications to the frontiers of molecular science in Wellington in September 2016. The video album is now available:
Otago Spotlight Series: CVD background
Following our very successful cancer research event in 2015 we held a cardiovascular disease (CVD) forum on 20 September 2016 at the University of Otago, Wellington. The day was free of charge, and a wide range of health professionals, policymakers, community agencies and members of the public attended.
Over a dozen University of Otago researchers were in the spotlight providing short, easy-to-understand outlines of their work at the CVD coalface in New Zealand.
We featured internationally recognised and distinguished scientists alongside exciting emerging researchers whose fingers are on the pulse of reducing the burden of CVD:
Meet our CVD presenters
- Advances in treatments
- Diagnostic tools
- Health inequalities
- Population health and community prevention
- Predispositions and risk factors
- Optional tour of our environmental chamber facility
Attendees had the chance to meet with researchers, and to contribute their views on the CVD research priorities for New Zealand.
