Who are the group fitness classes for?

Unipol's group fitness classes are for anyone wanting to have fun and improve their fitness, whether that is cardio-vascular fitness, strength, flexibility etc. Male or female, young or old, big or small, short or tall, everyone is welcome.

BoxFit and Spin are great alternatives for those that may feel co-ordination isn't their thing. Come and try them out and get a good feel what each class is about.

Are there classes for beginners?

Each Group Fitness class offers different levels to cater from beginners to experts to ensure that all of our classes are available for everyone to enjoy. Unipol encourages beginners to approach the instructor before the class to introduce themselves and allow the instructor to give handy hints to enjoy the class even more.

I want to do Pump but I've never used free-weights before. What should I do?

Unipol runs a Pump Intro class where the instructor covers Pump class technique for each exercise. These sessions run at different times in the year. Check out the timetable to see when the next Pump Intro class is running. This class is highly recommended even for those with previous weights experience.

I have an injury, can I still take part in the group fitness classes?

Depending on your injury, yes. Pump and Core include many non-impact exercises which will provide conditioning for the entire body. Yogalates is a great alternative also for injured individuals as it takes you through a series of stretches and exercises that complement most rehabilitation routines. For less damaging injuries, Spin and Step Fit can provide low-impact options. Always follow the advise given to you by your health professional.

How often should I attend classes to maintain good health and fitness?

Our classes are designed to target different facets of fitness.

Attendance to one different class per day of the week will ensure that your body adapts both physiologically and structurally.

What if I have to leave a class early?

Leaving a class early is fine. However, please be considerate and respectful of other participants by positioning yourself as close to the exit as possible.

If you do have to leave early, we advise you to cool down and stretch after leaving the class.

What if I'm not coordinated enough for Step Fit?

Everyone struggles with Step Fit the first time they go. To help with your coordination and confidence we encourage you to attend a Step Intro class where the instructor covers the basics of a Step Class. These sessions run at different times in the year. Check out the timetable to see when the next Step Intro class is running.
