It’s the season to check smoke alarms. Your landlord is responsible for installing smoke alarms, but you are responsible for changing the batteries if needed. Campus Watch are working on an initiative to check all student flats have working smoke alarms. The NZ Fire Service and OUSA Student Support are supporting the initiative with free checks and free replacement batteries where needed. If you have any questions please contact Campus Watch 0800479500
Please join us for the OUSA ANZAC Day Service held in conjunction with the University of Otago and Te Roopū Māori. The service will take place outside the University Staff Club at 1.30pm on Tuesday 25th April. If wet the service will be held in the Main Common Room in the Union building. Honouring those who fought. Valuing Peace.
Choose a goal! Whether it's 10, 20 or 30 group fitness classes over the month of May (30th April - 27th May) it's completely up to you. The 28 Day Challenge will help you develop good exercise habits that lead to a healthier lifestyle during the cooler months. There’ll be some great spot prizes up for grabs too.
The 28 Day Challenge is free for Unipol Group Fitness members & those with Unipol memberships and $28 (for 28 Days) for Group Fitness non-members (students and tertiary staff with ID only).
Skips will be out on Friday 27 April, from 9am to 4pm so you can get rid of the stuff you can’t put in your black bags or recycling bins. If the skip located closest to your flat is full, please take your rubbish to another skip at these locations.
If you can, it’s probably best to get rid of your rubbish before 3.30pm, as skips taken away to be emptied towards the end of the collection period may not be replaced with a new skip.
By now you probably know all about the DCC rubbish collection service requirements but just take a minute to refresh your memory. Non-DCC rubbish bags will not be collected.
Thanks for your help keeping the campus tidy.
