Cara Duffy, Adviser Marketing Services
Cara provides marketing advisory services and outputs within the Division of Sciences.
As the primary marketing point of contact for Sciences' departments and schools, she provides advice and support to portfolio leaders and managers that strengthens the strategic and operational marketing endeavours within the Division.
Cara works collaboratively with the Marketing Services team and Communications Advisory colleagues to deliver a seamless provision of services for her client portfolio. She also attends and coordinates activities and events on behalf of clients and in conjunction with the Marketing Events team.

Guy Frederick, Communications Adviser / Kōrero Kaitohutohu
Guy’s focus is writing stories and creating content supporting those stories that communicate the work, activities and achievements of the staff and students in the Division of Sciences. On any one day this could range from the writing of press releases or stories for University publications such as the Otago Bulletin or the Otago Magazine, to the creation of digital content for social media.
Guy has worked for a decade as a freelance writer and photographer, and with an undergraduate degree in physical geography and as a recent graduate of the University’s Masters of Science Communication programme, is inspired to share divisional stories.

Angie Hughes, Development Manager
As a member of the Development and Alumni Relations Office, Angie ensures the coordination of and support for strategic fundraising projects by working with University of Otago faculty and staff to nurture mutually beneficial relationships with our valued alumni, stakeholders and friends. Through these evolving partnerships students and researchers in the Division of Sciences are able to progress on the multitude of critical concerns facing our local and global community.
Angie comes to the University of Otago with over a decade’s experience in post-secondary institutions and non-profits in Australia and Canada and enjoys working with forward-thinking donors, philanthropists and organisations eager to embed enduring positive impact into issues they are passionate about.
