The Senior Science Quiz is designed for Year 11, 12 and 13 students, with questions which test logical thought, general knowledge and scientific skills.
The Quiz question booklets and answer sheets are sent out to each participating school, and all schools hold the Quiz on the same date. For 2024, this will be Wednesday 12 June.
Thousands of dollars worth of prizes will be divided among the highest achievers, the exact amounts depending on the number of high-achieving entrants. Certificates will be awarded to top performers in each Year group.
Quiz content and administration
Each school Year level has a booklet containing questions appropriate to that level. While we try to escape from the limits of the syllabus, there will be some overlap.
Each booklet will contain 45 multi-choice questions, and is designed to be completed in 50 minutes.
Detailed instructions on how to fill out the multi-choice answer sheets will be sent with the booklets. Please follow these instructions very carefully.
The Quiz is to be held during a suitable 50-minute period on Wednesday 12 June 2024.
One mark is awarded for each correct answer. No marks are given for either an incorrect answer, or no answer.
How to enter
Registrations for the 2024 Senior Science Quiz close on Friday 10 May 2024.
To register, schools need to download the Quiz registration template and fill it out with the name and Year level of each student who will participate.

Send your completed list, along with the name and contact details of the person who will oversee the Quiz at your school, to:

An invoice will then be generated and sent through for payment. The entry fee is $6 per student plus GST.
You can expect to receive your question booklets and answer sheets a few days prior to the Quiz. Please contact us (see below) if you have not received them by 5 June 2024.
