The Bachelor of Applied Science degree is a three year open entry qualification. It has a compulsory minor or second major, and as you work through the various majors pages on this site, you can see which the relevant second majors or minors are - as you click on those second options, the requirements for the minor in that subject will come up for you as well.

Applied Science majors are interdisciplinary and designed to be at the cutting edge of science and technology. These are programmes that deliver workplace skills and knowledge sought-after by employers not just in New Zealand but all over the world.

The Honours stream for the BAppSc operates as a fourth year, on completion of the bachelor's degree - this is still to be finally approved and the new regulations will be posted on this website as soon as final approval has been given.

Students who began their BAppSc in or before 2010 must normally complete their degree under the previous structures. In certain cases it may be possible for students who are partway through a BAppSc to complete their degrees under the new (3 year) regulations; enquiries should be directed to the Sciences Divisional Office.
