The University of Otago offers a number of postgraduate scholarships and awards for domestic and international students. PhD students can apply for a University of Otago Postgraduate Scholarship at any point in the academic year. For information on how to apply, please visit the Postgraduate Scholarships page.

A dedicated Scottish Studies scholarship, the Bamforth Postgraduate Scholarship, is available to support Masters and PhD candidates. Both domestic and international students are eligible to apply.

On completion of their PhD, students are eligible to apply for a Postgraduate Publishing Bursary worth $5,000, tenable for three months, in order to prepare their research for publication.

International students enrolling for the first time at a New Zealand university are eligible to pay tuition fees at the New Zealand domestic level. For students enrolling mid–way through the academic year, fees will be payable on a pro–rata basis.

Information on the tuition fees and costs for domestic students is available at: http://www.otago.ac.nz/study/fees/index.html

Information on the tuition fees and costs for international students (together with an estimate of living costs) is available at: http://www.otago.ac.nz/international/otago002190.html
